Summary
The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a candidate to fill their part-time Study Therapist position within the Addiction Sciences Division. This position is for a Masters level clinical or counseling psychologist (MA), Licensed Social Worker (LISW), or Professional Counselor (LPC). The individual will contribute approximately 20 hours per hours per week and will work in a team environment on clinical trials that use manualized, evidence-based cognitive-behavioral interventions to treat adults (civilians, dyads and veterans), with alcohol use disorders and trauma / PTSD.
In this capacity, the candidate will provide evidence-based individual or dyadic therapy to research participants per protocol (ex : Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). The candidate will also be responsible for conducting psychosocial assessments, participating in clinical and administrative meetings, and completing related documentation in collaboration with the research team. The candidate will receive training in the protocol(s) and weekly supervision and will report to the Principal Investigator. This position has the opportunity for remote work.

Work Schedule : Monday - Friday; Approximately 20 hours per week during the hours of 8 : 00AM - 6 : 00PM
Remote Work : 1 - 2 day per week
Job Duties :
- 35% - Provide manualized, evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy to research participants with psychiatric disorders. Provide therapeutic services to both individuals (civilians and veterans), as well as families and couples via in-person (in the office) and remotely through telehealth services.
- 35% - Evaluate participants for enrollment in research studies through diagnostic interviews and psychiatric assessments. Collaborate with research staff and investigators to determine eligibility of research participants.
- 10% - Document participant progress notes in research records and assist with data collection as needed.
- 10% - Participate in weekly supervision and case consultation.
- 5% - Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings with psychologists, psychiatrists, research staff, and trainees. Participate in program activities such as journal clubs, Department grand rounds, etc.
- 5% - Perform other duties as required.
MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements : A bachelor's degree and two years professional experience in human services or social services programs.
Preferred Training and Experience : Masters level clinical or counseling psychologist (MA), Licensed Social Worker (LISW), or Professional Counselor (LPC). Experience with study population a plus.
