Staff Accountant
Job Summary:
The staff accountant will monitor and perform routine bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assisting in maintenance of accounting files. This role will utilize spreadsheet software and accounting software to complete tasks.
Essential Functions:
- Managing accounts payable using QuickBooks, on-line banking systems, and vendor portals,
- Analyzing workflow processes,
- Performs Trust account reconciliations and check processing.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts such as Bank accounts, credit card accounts and all balance sheet accounts,
- Tracking contracts pricing and terms of payment
- Assist with 1099 compliance and obtaining W-9s for new vendors.
- Maintain leases and insurance certificates for all remote offices.
- Support the Controller with projects and tasks as needed.
- Additional accounting duties as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong computer skills; experience in QuickBooks On-line software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- General knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices
- Attention to Detail
- *This is an in-office position
Position Type & Hours: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree in accounting is a plus.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping role
