What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Receiving Supervisor position at Muscle and Strength?
POSITION SUMMARY
Working as a member of the receiving team, the Receiving Supervisor is responsible for all receiving operations in the warehouse, serves as point of contact for any inventory or PO issues, and trains, directs and monitors all Receiving Associates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, coordinates, and monitors the receipt and storage of products
- Has a clear understanding of Muscle & Strength’s polices, vision, and how the warehouse contributes to these
- Manages receiving personnel and duties
- Responsible for delivery receipts and proper documenting of damaged inventory
- Keeps team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives
- Updates and maintains the receiving sheet
- Reconciles packing slips and updates PO notes daily
- Coordinated the returns of products with proper personnel
- Collaborates with team to identify ways to improve department effectiveness and processes
- Maintains assigned daily/weekly reports
- Performs inventory adjustments
- Research inventory discrepancies
- Acts as point of contact for handling new and expired products, purchase orders, inventory, vendor managers, and accounting
- Complete other warehouse tasks as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with Warehouse Manager to evaluate and discipline departmental staff
- Participate in the recruitment of Receiving Associates
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Oversees scheduling and assignments of the Receiving Associates
- Resolves conflicts that arise among team members
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years receiving experience
- Able to manage changing priorities
- Possesses a sense of urgency in the completion of tasks
- Possesses excellent customer service skills
- Is highly organized with great attention to detail
- Ability to stay focused with the task at hand
- Ability to take direction and follow through
- Must be forklift certified
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to move about inside a warehouse without climate control, standing and walking for up to an entire shift, year-round
- Must be able to constantly position self to access product locations (stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl) and frequently ascend/descend ladders to access high shelving
- Ability to lift and move boxes and merchandise weighing up to 60 pounds
- Process certification and ability to operate standing forklift
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
