The Musco Product Development Engineering Team is currently seeking a PCB Layout Engineer to work from our Oskaloosa office. This position will design, release and maintain printed circuit board layouts for a wide variety of lighting products. The Musco Product Development Engineering Team is currently seeking a PCB Layout Engineer to work from our Oskaloosa office. This position will design, release and maintain printed circuit board layouts for a wide variety of lighting products. What You Will Do As a PCB Layout Engineer
- Design printed circuit boards to support lighting product development activities using Altium.
- Produce documents such as schematics, Gerber Files, BOM’s and manufacturing drawings to support product development and manufacturing.
- Provide technical expertise on PCB layout and tradeoffs pertaining to design of lighting products.
- Manage PCB layout activities from concept through production release.
- Work with compliance for UL/IEC/CE listings and other country specific product certifications as needed.
- Review and evaluate product specifications.
- Perform calculations as needed for sizing electrical components.
- Evaluate alternate components and materials as needed.
- Assist with prototype assembly and evaluation.
- Interface with other departments like R&D, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, warranty, etc.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Five or more years’ experience using Altium for PCB design
- Proficient in the use of Altium for PCB layout, library management and new component creation.
- PC proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Basic knowledge of electrical engineering principles, concepts, practices, and theories.
- Ability to use common test and measurement equipment: oscilloscopes, multi-meters, etc.
- Knowledge of UL, CSA, IPC standards.
- Understanding of EMI mitigation and grounding practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Highly self-motivated with a proactive mindset.
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
- Collaborative team player with a focus on achieving common goals.
- Analytical and methodical in problem-solving.
- Adaptable and able to manage shifting priorities and meet tight deadlines.
