What you will do as a Sr. Electronic Hardware Reliability Engineer:
- Work with product development engineers to incorporate design-for-reliability principles into new product and system designs.
- Provide technical leadership to product development engineers and test engineers in the planning and implementation of reliability-evaluation activities based on expected customer use environment and operational conditions.
- Work with data scientists to determine test deliverables for reliability analysis.
- Participate in Design of Experiments for investigation into reliability issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve failure-data collection and analysis, perform root-cause and trend analysis, and determine required corrective actions.
- Use technical knowledge and experience to continuously improve Musco’s reliability engineering processes.
- Determine impact of field failures in terms of service and cost throughout a product’s lifecycle.
- Assist with building and evaluating warranty cost models.
- Assist with analysis of data related to field performance issues.
- Participate in identification of root cause, corrective actions, and verification of corrective action effectiveness.
- Participate in resolution of any potential product safety issues and recommend appropriate action necessary to resolve such issues.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Ten years of experience in reliability engineering of electronic products is required.
- Experience in reliability engineering for mechanical and/or electromechanical products is a plus.
- Knowledge of failure analysis, accelerated test techniques, reliability statistics, system reliability modeling, HALT, Physics of Failure analysis techniques, and life data analysis as they apply to electronic products is required.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong data analysis and statistical skills.
- Excellent communication skills. Able to communicate well with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- ASQ Certified Reliability certificate, or willingness to obtain certification, is strongly preferred.
