The Musco Information Technology Team is currently seeking an Application Developer II to work from our Muscatine or Oskaloosa office. This position will focus on being responsible for working with assigned business areas to provide needed information and software tools to support business objectives. This includes software development, reporting, and ongoing maintenance. As a level II developer, a more detailed understanding of business objectives is expected along with a higher level of programming skills. For smaller projects, the ability to solely manage the development process without dedicated project management is expected. The ideal candidate is a problem solver and self-starter, who is willing to work with a variety of applications.

What you will do as an Application Developer II:

  • Analyze information requirements and determine an action plan
  • Write, test, and debug computer software
  • Access and report data as necessary
  • Assist in the development of project schedules
  • Execute project schedules
  • Ensure installed software systems are properly maintained
  • Provide timely end-user support as needed
  • Travel to other Musco locations on occasion

What you need to be successful:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science-related field, Engineering field, and/or commensurate experience
  • Effective experience with computer programming languages and development of software
  • 4 years of software development experience in a work environment or demonstrated aptitude
  • Experience with .NET is preferred and not required
  • Database programming is a plus
  • Must have strong verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Should be able to work with some amount of self-directedness
  • Ability to work in a confidential manner with data
