The Musco Product Development Engineering Team is currently seeking a Product Engineer to work from our Oskaloosa office. This position will identify, evaluate, and integrate commercially off the shelf cellular, wireless radio, and other communication components into Musco lighting controls systems. These components must meet project requirements while considering factors such as performance, compliance, and cost. What you will do as a Product Engineer:
Cost analysis: Analyze and asses the cost implications of various options, considering long-term warranty and support factors.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with key vendors, ensuring consistent, reliable support and supply chain continuity. Lead efforts to optimize cost-effectiveness while maintaining high-quality standards and proactively address any potential risks or disruptions to minimize operational impact and support long-term strategic goals.
Work with internal design teams and purchasing to ensure product initiatives are met.
Project Specification review: Technical evaluation to ensure project specifications are met.
Risk management: Identify and minimize potential risks associated with Commercial off the shelf components, such as obsolescence, compatibility issues, and long term support.
Compliance assessment: Work closely with internal compliance and testing teams as well as vendors to ensure compliance with industry regulations in US and Internationally.

What you need to be successful:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related technical degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong understanding of electrical controls
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Familiar with COTS components categories(hardware, software, and network components)
Experience with Project Management methodologies to ensure timely delivery
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to evaluate technical specifications and vendor documentation
Strong motivational aptitude
Salary : $12,000 - $64,000
