What are the responsibilities and job description for the RMA (Return Material Authorization) Operations Manager position at Musco Sports Lighting?
The Musco Product Reliability Team is currently seeking a RMA Operations Manager to work from our Oskaloosa office. This position will focus on managing the end-to-end process of returns, testing, repairs, and replacements of defective products as well as the day-to-day operations of the RMA facility. What you will do as a RMA Operations Manager:
- Ensure proper organization and maintenance of RMA facility.
- Oversee the tracking, inspection, testing, and refurbishment of returned products to identify failure issues and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Work closely with R&D, Services, and Quality teams to identify and communicate recurring issues and collaborate on solutions to improve product quality.
- Coordinate with logistics and inventory management teams to ensure proper stock levels of replacement products and parts.
- Continuously evaluate and improve RMA workflows to enhance operational efficiency and improve RMA metrics.
- Oversee set up, operation, and maintenance of test systems.
- Analyze reports on return rates, reasons for returns, repair status, tracking, overall RMA performance, and manage appropriate actions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the RMA operations team, providing training and support to ensure optimal performance and compliance with internal standards.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and increase quality through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to manage the return, repair, and replacement of faulty products.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Electronics, or related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in RMA operations, supply chain, logistics, or electronics preferred
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong knowledge of RMA processes, product lifecycle management, and warranty processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience in the electronics sector preferred.
