The Musco Compliance Engineering Team is currently seeking a Senior Compliance Engineer to work from our Oskaloosa office. This position is responsible to ensure that Musco products comply with requirements set by regulatory bodies and standards organizations worldwide, and to develop and maintain a sustainable environmental compliance program and product safety regulations. What you will do as a Senior Compliance Engineer:
- Achieves product and engineering compliance by developing and executing compliance programs by reviewing and completing regulatory documentation.
- Prevents compliance issues by collaborating with engineering planning and design teams, reviewing design data, and developing compliance policies and/or Standard Operating Procedures.
- Prepare compliance plans and monitor environmental regulations worldwide that affect our products, including RoHS, WEEE, REACH, and mercury.
- Maintain the database of materials disclosure documentation to demonstrate restricted substance product compliance and keep it updated as parts, products, suppliers, market areas, and regulations change.
- Obtain materials disclosure information from suppliers and review information for adequacy prior to acceptance.
- Consult, communicate and follow-up extensively with suppliers, Purchasing, Marketing, Engineering, and other departments.
- Be the company subject matter expert (SME) for suppliers and Musco team members for stewardship and environmental compliance issues
- Plan, Monitor and control compliance expense budgets.
- Prepare customer notifications regarding product content.
- Perform and record training for team members and/or other departments.
- Interpret and analyze codes and standards as they relate to Musco products.
- Plan and lead compliance testing by applying standards from Certification agencies such as UL, ETL, SGS, CCC, IEC) on subjects such as EMC, FCC, RED, Electrical Safety, Photobiological safety, Energy, and functionality, to align with Project schedules.
- Other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelors degree in electrical or electronics engineering or a relevant technical field
- Five years of experience in product compliance
- Five years of experience working with regulatory agencies and test labs.
- Experience with LED lighting and electrical or electronic products and LED Lighting is highly preferred.
- Strong technical, mechanical & electrical aptitude.
- Self-directed and self-motivated.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross functional environment.
- Collaborate with other groups on a frequent basis.
- Mid-Level leadership skills.
