The Musco Product Reliability Team is currently seeking a Senior Electronic Technician to work from our Oskaloosa office. This position will focus on testing, refurbishing, and validating products returned from customer facilities while under warranty, including significant involvement in the creation of complex test fixtures and systems. What you will do as a Senior Electronic Technician:
- Design, construct, and maintain test fixtures and test systems as required. Includes hardware, software, and mechanical activities.
- Assist with developing test protocols, writing test plans, and documenting results.
- Perform testing and repair on devices returned from customer sites using both common test and measurement equipment and specialized test systems.
- Collect repair data and maintain repair database.
- Assist in maintaining the lab, including ordering supplies, test equipment, etc.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced technicians.
- Coordinate activities of technical staff.
- Provide feedback to product developers for design corrections and enhancements.
- Support other departments as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to be successful:
- Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, completion of military electronics training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years of experience testing electronic assemblies in an R&D or production environment. Experience with the development of automated test systems is preferred.
- Ability to use common test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, etc.) to troubleshoot electrical circuits using schematics. Experience with data acquisition systems is preferred.
- Able to construct basic circuits using point-to-point wiring. Experience soldering thru-hole and surface mount components is preferred. Ability to design and layout simple PCB assemblies is a plus.
- Ability to use hand tools and operate basic shop equipment (drill press, band saw, etc.).
- Working knowledge of basic lab safety practices.
- Experience with structured programming (C#, .net, LabView, etc.) is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of networks and communications (RS485, RS232, TCP/IP, etc).
- Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, self-motivation, strong teamwork skills.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Basic MS Office proficiency.
