Primary Function: The job of Specialist, Accounts Payable is done for the purpose/s of processing accounts payable functions of the District. This responsibility includes the assurance that all payable activities or obligations are properly authorized, paid in a timely manner, and properly recorded in the financial accounting system.

REQUIREMENTS: |

1. Educational Level: |
High School Diploma/GED |
|
3. Experience: |
Minimum three years work experience, preferably with 1-2 years of employment related experience processing account payable transactions; Additional screening may be requested/required. |
|
4. Physical Activities: |
Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities |

5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: |
Written and oral communication; accurately perform mathematical calculations; online data entry skills, 10-key by touch; excellent customer services skills |
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. |
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. |
|
2. |
Assists with the preparation of the monthly and year-end accounts payable closing activities (e.g. closing of the District’s purchase orders and payables processes, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that all purchase orders and payables are properly recorded. |

3. |
Assists with the District’s daily accounts payable operations (e.g. vendor disbursements, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the district is in compliance with local, state, and federal policies and accounting practices. |
|
4. |
Coordinates with other staff (e.g. status of receiving and PO changes, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accounts payable remains efficient and timely. |
|
5. |
Maintains a variety of accounts payable information, files, and records (e.g. vendors, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established accounting practices and regulatory guidelines. |
|
6. |
Processes all system-wide payables as well a travel reimbursements in a timely manner for the purpose of ensuring processing of accounts payable transactions. |
|
7. |
Provides oversight of all system-wide payables as well as travel reimbursements for the purpose of ensuring payments are processed in a timely manner. |
|
8. |
Responds to financial inquiries regarding accounts payable activities (e.g. past payments, payments in process, etc.) for the purpose of meeting local, state, and federal regulatory requirements and the district remains in good standing with its business partners. |

9. |
Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator. |
