This posting is to recruit for existing vacancies and / or positions that become available at our various schools.
PRIMARY FUNCTION : The job of an In School Suspension Technician supervises students assigned to In School Suspension and provides assistance with completing educational activities.
REQUIREMENTS :
1. Educational Level :
Minimum 60 semester / 100 quarter hours of eligible college hours. {The "GACE Paraprofessional Assessment" is NOT accepted towards meeting the requirements for an In School Suspension Technician (ISST) position.}
2. Certification / License :
Must maintain Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate which include in-service training related to position
3. Experience : None
4. Physical Activities :
Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities
5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
Written and oral communication; student management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
Provides appropriate instructional assistance and support for students based on lessons provided by the teacher.
Coordinates and communicates with classroom teachers in assisting students in the continuation of classroom assignments and / or implementing IEP objectives.
Evaluates students during the course of the day and makes referrals on students in need of further remediation and / or counseling.
Interacts with students, individually and / or in groups. To assist them in accepting responsibility for their behavior and for changing behavior.
Keeps current records on all ISS students and submits accurate paperwork on schedule.
Assists with discipline record keeping.
Maintains structure and discipline in the ISS room and directs the conducts of students in accordance with policies and procedure.
Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
