Summary:
Manage and lead a team of banquet captains and banquet wait staff. Manage the execution of all banquet events to ensure optimum performance, superior guest service, excellent presentation, and maximum profitability of all functions. Maintain quality, service, safety, and operating standards as established by the brand to ensure quality control and consistency. Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements. Escalate issues or provide information to immediate Supervisor for resolution.
Responsibilities:
1. Communicate closely with the Banquets and Catering Manager to ensure client expectations are met
2. Communicate closely with other inter-departmental employees to maintain operational facilities
3. Ensure successful execution of all banquet events
4. Hire and schedule wait staff based on operational needs
5. Control labor and catering expenses; keep to budget and maintain financial and administrative records
6. Supervise day-to-day activities of the banquet department, communicate objectives, and schedule/assign workload; communicate and enforce policies and procedures
7. Liaison with vendors, outside contacts, regulatory agencies, and guests, as needed
8. Ensure staff is properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions; promote teamwork and quality service; conduct performance evaluations/corrections
9. Ensure excellent guest service; guest requests/complaints are handled in prompt and courteous manner
10. Ensure all set-up and service delivery is carried out efficiently
11. Conduct pre-function meetings with scheduled staff; review all pertinent information; inspect functional areas/rooms, table/bar set-ups, buffet tables, receptions and coffee breaks for cleanliness and proper layout
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Hospitality, Restaurant/Hotel Management, Event Planning or related industry preferred. Management experience with food and beverage operations knowledge and training required. ABLE liquor license and Serv Safe training and certification is required
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing high-volume and high-end catering and banquets.
Casino Hotel Resort experience preferred
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
MCN OPG Gaming License is required
Serv Safe Certificate is required
Tulsa County Food Handler’s permit is required
Key positions must have application and knowledge of Title 31 reporting requirements
Must be able to pass a drug test and an extensive background check
