Summary:
Ensures maximum uptime of fire alarms and suppression systems at all company sites. Under Safety Manager’s supervision, oversees all fire safety at all company sites. Under Safety Manager’s supervision, oversees installations, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and inspections of all fire extinguisher, alarm and suppression systems. Always presents a friendly and professional image. Escalates issues or provides information to Supervisor for resolution.
All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the organization’s policies and procedures, tribal regulations, and all federal/state laws, as needed.
Responsibilities:
1. Under supervision, serves as a principal authority and the primary, hands-on, licensed technician for all fire extinguisher, alarm and suppression components, equipment and systems.
2. Works flexible hours, days and locations to fulfill assigned duties.
3. Ensures that all activities and projects are executed in line with best practice & standards.
4. Represents and negotiates on behalf of the company in the areas of responsibility.
5. Ensures all work is complete and approves payment to vendors and contractors.
6. Helps audit work of vendors and contractors.
7. Collaborates with other trades and disciplines.
8. Estimates cost and forecasts needs for staffing, parts, equipment, tools, contracts and services.
9. Prioritizes, schedules and assigns work and projects.
10. Reads and interpret mechanical, architectural and electrical drawings and specifications.
11. Maintains the integrity of all facilities based on building codes and laws.
12. Safely operates over-the-road/utility vehicles, material handling equipment and personnel/forklifts.
13. Responsibly handles an assigned company credit card to perform assigned duties.
14. Inspects and is responsible for maintenance and repairs of assigned vehicles, equipment and tools.
15. Maintains all appropriate paperwork for inventory; maintenance and repair of assigned vehicles, parts, equipment and tools; licensing; and, personal employment requirements.
16. Assures prompt, courteous and competent service to all customers, internal and external.
17. Operates within the safety rules and codes set by the company.
18. Developing fire prevention programs and educating the public on fire safety issues such as proper use of electrical equipment, flammable materials, and fire hazards in the home
19. Inspecting facilities to assess fire hazards, such as exits that are blocked or stairways that are cluttered
20. Conducting fire drills and or training to ensure employees know what to do in case of an emergency, and reviewing emergency response plans with staff members.
21. Inspecting alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly and have been properly installed.
22. Investigating fires to determine the cause, origin point, and contributing factors.
23. Inspecting fire alarm systems and other fire suppression equipment to ensure it is working properly.
24. Coordinating with local fire departments to respond to emergencies such as structure fires and vehicle fires.
25. Develop MNGE fire safety standards based on industry code and best practices.
26. Under training and supervision, manages Fire Watch.
27. Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, and/or ability required
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent is required; fire alarm or technical certificate preferred; and/or combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE
One (1) to Two (2) years’ experience in fire alarm/fire safety capacity, and/or 2 years’ experience in commercial low voltage/fire alarm company with fire safety/classroom instruction is preferred.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
MCN OPG Gaming License is required
Key positions require knowledge and application of Title 31 reporting requirements.
Burglar Alarm/Commercial Fire Alarm Technician License issued by the Oklahoma Department of Labor (or obtain within one (1) year of hire).
Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
Must have the ability to pass comprehensive background check, drug test, and obtain gaming license.
