SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Fleet and Transportation Manager, the Fleet Officer ensures the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the organization’s fleet of vehicles and equipment. This role is responsible for maintaining a robust Fleet Program that includes safety and maintenance protocols to protect employees, equipment, and assets. The Fleet Officer will foster a professional and collaborative work environment while adhering to organizational policies, tribal regulations, and all applicable federal and state laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
1. Maintain and enhance the comprehensive fleet program, including:
2. Managing the fuel card program.
3. Monitoring and scheduling vehicle maintenance.
4. Overseeing the Shared Services vehicle pool and reservation system.
5. Conducting quarterly vehicle inspections.
6. Maintaining emergency key boxes.
7. Monitoring vehicles through the GPS system.
8. Assist with vehicle acquisition and disposal for all properties.
9. Collaborate with Directors, General Managers, and department Managers to anticipate future fleet needs.
10. Develop and implement a cost-effective equipment program aligned with the fleet program.
11. Stay current with federal, tribal, state, and local transportation regulations to ensure fleet operations comply with all legal requirements.
12. Conduct driver training programs, including defensive driving techniques, to promote safe driving and reduce accidents, as directed by management.
13. Assist in investigating accidents and incidents to identify root causes, trends, and prevention strategies.
14. Analyze safety metrics, such as telematics and incident reports, to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
15. Monitor safety performance and implement best practices to enhance fleet safety continuously.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Applied Science, Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
EXPERIENCE
1–2 years of fleet management or experience in a large transportation company.
Familiarity with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Department of Transportation, and Compliance Safety Accountability standards.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
MCN OPG Gaming License is required.
Valid Driver’s License is required.
Commercial Motor Vehicle driving experience is preferred.
Must have the ability to pass comprehensive background check, drug test, and obtain required gaming license.
Certified Safety Professional status, if not currently established, to be obtained within 3 years of employment.
