Responsibilities
Patient Interaction and Check-in:
- Warmly greet patients and visitors in-person at our St. Matthews & CenterWell locations.
- Register new patients, collect necessary consents and information.
- Handle the collection of co-pays and process financial transactions.
Communication and Scheduling:
- Lead communication efforts, including managing phone calls and emails across all departments.
- Provide information and answer questions regarding our services.
- Schedule appointments and call patients to confirm upcoming appointments.
- Collaborate with department leads to implement scheduling preferences and templates.
Referral and Authorization Management:
- Process incoming referrals for all departments, with an initial focus on wound care.
- Ensure compliance with PCP authorizations in line with Tricare, VA, and MSC policies.
- Review daily schedules to confirm procedure authorizations and assist with reminders.
Insurance and Verification:
- Conduct daily insurance eligibility checks in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Verify insurance for procedures and manage designated appointment types for easy identification.
Provider Schedule Management:
- Update and manage provider schedules to optimize patient flow and resource utilization.
Support and Collaboration:
- Collaborate across departments to streamline patient intake and referral processes.
- Support community outreach initiatives and work closely with medical assistants to enhance patient experience.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a front desk, administrative, or similar role in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proficiency in healthcare EHR systems.
- Familiarity with insurance processes and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
