Barista/Kitchen Staff

Who We Are:
We are a family-owned local coffee shop and cafe. We have been in Loveland for over 16 years, and love holding a space that is community driven, welcoming and warm, and full of delicious homemade pastries, bread, tons of food items, and lots of coffee and tea drinks.

We are looking for one individual to join our passionate team! The hours are negotiable, but expect to work anywhere from 10-25 hours/week. The starting pay is $12.50 (PLUS TIPS), and will be increased after your training period is over, typically one to one and a half months.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a barista, kitchen team member, and baker. As a member of our staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food and drink service establishment. Job responsibilities include: greeting and taking customer's orders, handling cash, making a wide array of coffee drinks, prepping food ingredients, cooking food items for customers, washing dishes, making batters for certain pastries, cleaning your workspace, and more. Responsibilities:
- Prepare common coffee shop beverages with quality and in a timely manner
- Ensure the cleanliness of your barista area throughout the day, including sanitizing the espresso machine frequently and wiping down all surfaces with sanitizer
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting and cooking meat, baking pastries and bread, and gathering other necessary ingredients
- Assist in cooking and assembling dishes according to our recipes and portion sizes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
- Follow proper food and drink handling and safety procedures to ensure the quality and freshness of our products
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely service
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and requests

Requirements:
- Someone with kitchen, barista, or baking experience
- A person who is a self-starter, driven, and passionate about their work
- Motivation to contribute new ideas to the business. This position will allow you a lot of creative freedom, from coming up with new drink specials, food specials, and new bakery items. Someone who wants to take initiative and try out new ideas is very important to us.
- Someone who is able to handle busy/stressful situations and deliver the same quality of output as if it were slow
- A person who is willing to work early hours. Opening shifts start at 6am.
- Experience with some form of customer service is required. Our customers are the heart of The Muse and we are known for our exceptional customer service
- Must supply at least one professional reference on your resume
- Must be willing to work our Friday night late hours in the summer. We will discuss this further in an interview
- Must be 18 or over
