Position SummaryThe Museum of Art Fort Collins (MoA) seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Development Manager to support and increase fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of the museum's development initiatives, including developing new donors, donor stewardship, database management, event management, and grant support. The Development Manager will work closely with the Executive Director to increase development initiatives and to strengthen relationships with donors to advance MoA’s mission. The mission of the Museum of Art Fort Collins is to boldly explore contemporary society through art: enlightening, educating, and providing arts leadership for our region. We connect art, artists and community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Fundraising Efforts
- Lead general and annual fundraising campaigns, including year end/special appeals.
- Research prospective donors and seek new funding opportunities plus exhibition and program sponsorships.
- Writing grant applications and final reporting.
- Work with Executive Director and Board to craft a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
2. Donor Relations and Stewardship
- Assist/create donor communications, including acknowledgment letters, thank-you notes, invites, campaigns and updates.
- Maintain accurate donor records in the museum’s CRM system (Neon).
- Support donor recognition efforts, including special mailings and impact reports.
3. Database Management
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date entry of donor information.
- Generate reports and donor lists for development campaigns and board meetings.
- Track and analyze giving trends to support fundraising strategy.
4. Event Management
- Lead planning and execution of fundraising events and donor/member events
- Create event communications, logistics, and on-site coordination.
- Manage RSVPs and event-related donor engagement activities.
5. Administrative and General Support
- Provide general administrative support
- Assist with board and committee meeting preparations.
- Coordinate mailings, filing, and other clerical duties as needed for fundraising campaigns.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, arts administration, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in development, fundraising, or nonprofit administration preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in donor management software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Passion for the arts and commitment to MoA’s mission.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $50,000 per year (FT hourly position)
