This position is PT – Non-Exempt.

- Compensation is $19.44hr, commensurate with experience.
- The Museum Store’s hours are Tuesday to Sunday 10 am-6pm.
- Part-time candidates must have open availability up to 16 to 24 hours per week and flexibility for day, evening, weekend and select holiday and/or event availability is required.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers with their purchases in a friendly and professional manner.
- Following opening and closing procedures and protocol
- Research and provide accurate artist and product information including Artist bio and process.
- Establish and steward relationships with clientele and vendors to assist with personal shopping and/or dedicated purchasing opportunities.
- Accurately execute various sales and register transactions on the POS system, including ringing purchases, processing of cash or credit card payments, gift cards and counting money
- Re-stock products and packaging materials, including received inventory and outgoing shipping.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions and communicate with the customer.
- Maintain high standards of store cleanliness including display shelves and jewelry cases.
- Receiving and unpacking incoming shipments as needed
- Checking packing slips against purchase orders for discrepancies
- Assisting with processing web orders including pulling, wrapping, and processing the shipment through carrier pick-up ensuring that a receipt is included in the package.
- Assisting with packing and gift-wrapping products as needed.
- Support Inventory Manager as needed.
- Supports E-commerce Marketing Manager as needed with stories, posts and content related to the expansion of our digital platform.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Ability to sell a wide range of price points and merchandise.
- Extremely organized, including collecting customer email information and adding it to store email list among other administrative responsibilities.
- A professional, warm, and positive attitude, coupled with strong customer service, problem- solving, and interpersonal skills to communicate skillfully with a wide range of customers.
- Interest and/or knowledge of the arts, especially art, craft, and design, with an eagerness to learn about MAD’s collection and current special exhibitions as well as its history, mission, and programming, and the ability to speak with enthusiasm about the exhibitions.
- Candidates with an existing knowledge or expertise in fine jewelry, home goods and/or moderately priced jewelry, a plus.
- Tech savvy; fluency and comfort using POS systems.
- Highly motivated to drive revenue.
- Excellent comprehension of general sales and store opening and closing procedures
- Ability to learn requirements of the job such as register functions, product information, museum collections and relatedness, location of merchandise, etc.
- While performing the duties of this job, the Sales Floor Associate is required to stand, handle objects (up to 15lbs), climb or balance; stoop and kneel.
- Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PPT
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination experience sufficient to successfully perform essential functions of the job.
- 2 years of relevant retail work experience
- Flexibility for day, evening, weekend and select holiday and/or event availability is required.
