Responsibilities

  • Serves as first point of contact for the Glassell Junior School
  • Responds to registration inquiries via phone, email and in person
  • Updates voice mail and posts announcements regarding start of semester, holidays, school closures, etc.
  • Processes student enrollment, tuition payments, misc. sales (aprons, t-shirts, bags) and closes out daily transactions
  • Stocks, organizes and distributes classroom and office supplies
  • Provides faculty support such as printing / preparing classroom materials, and other duties as needed
  • Supervises student drop-off and pick-up; monitors students during arrival, dismissal and during summer lunch breaks
  • Monitors and cares for students sent to the office for early pick-up
  • Serves as back-up in the classroom, in the event of an absentee or late employee
  • Assists with coordinating a variety of projects, functions, and school events to include faculty meetings, scholarship competitions and exhibition openings
  • Assists with special projects and other duties as needed

  • High School Diploma or equivalent OR a combination of education and related work experience in an office or other related environment
  • An Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a related field considered an asset
  • Previous work experience in a school setting highly desired

    Position Available

    Title : Program Assistant, Glassell School

    Classification : Non-Exempt / Hourly

    Schedule : 35-hour work week – 9 am to 5 pm

    Will include some weekend work (with pay)

    Working Conditions and Physical Demands

    Work will primarily be performed in an office environment. Work will involve extended sitting and computer use.   • Paid Time Off - Used for absences from work such as vacation, illness of short duration, and personal reasons. Hours are accrued biweekly, based on employment status, length of service, and hours worked
  • Reserve Time Off - Used for extended illnesses. Employees accrue up to 6 days per year, up to a maximum of 120 days
  • Holidays - Full-time employees receive ten paid holidays per year
  • Volunteer Time Off - The MFAH supports activities that enhance and serve the communities in which we live and work. Employees receive up to 40 hours of paid time off annually to give back and volunteer.

  • Staff may contribute to the MFAH Retirement Savings Plan. Eligible staff contributing to the plan may receive up to a 5% matching contribution from the MFAH after one year of service. ( We also recognize prior nonprofit service which will provide for an accelerated employer match! )
