JOB TITLE : Marketing Director / Resident Art Educator

SCHEDULE : Wednesday- Sunday, Full-Time : Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO : Director of Development
SUMMARY : Creative lead in marketing department acting as full in-house agency. Overseeing all creative throughout the museum from initial concept to project completion. On-floor presence as "working artist" to public through use of visible office / studio, engaging in periodic public "instruction".
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop campaigns around events and special exhibitions to promote brand awareness and community wide excitement through social media and print.
- Work closely with department heads to understand broad scope of each project.
- Manage and ensure that projects follow brand standards.
- Concept unconventional ideas for upcoming events and exhibitions.
- Address internal graphic requests - flyers and logos, signage, and exhibit graphics.
- Develop key signage to complete brand campaign throughout museum.
- Responsible for maintaining vendor relationships, obtaining quotes and outsourcing nontraditional print jobs.
- Manage project time lines ensuring materials are hung and posted during promotion time period.
- Engage in spontaneous live interaction and periodic "performances" with guests during daily sessions. Artist is expected to speak with the guests on all things art including art techniques, art basics, art history, art philosophy and artistic idea conveyance and also speak of all things MOSI as well.
- Instruct art classes periodically including but not limited to "paint and sip" classes during evening hours as well as any other evening events as deemed necessary.
- Produce and install all inhouse graphics including design of graphics when necessary.
