WHY WE NEED YOU

At the Museum of Science, storytelling and immersive experiences are at the heart of how we engage, educate, and inspire our audiences. As our Associate Producer, you will be part of a team driving the development and execution of compelling multimedia content, live experiences, and special projects that bring science to life in innovative ways. What You'll Accomplish



  • Program Planning & Coordination:Co-produce and support execution of 120-130 events annually across multiple teams, including Adult Programs, Centers for Public Science Learning, Strategic Initiatives, and the Public Science Common. Lead the execution of 10-15 events per season (Winter/Spring, Summer, Fall), managing logistics, artist handling, and production coordination.
  • Logistics & Execution:In collaboration with Producer and Program Operations Manager, oversee all logistical aspects of events, including scheduling, technical support, artist relations, and event-day execution. Ensure high-quality programming and seamless delivery across all Museum channels, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats.
  • Artist Management & Relationships:Support artist management for SubSpace and Strategic Initiatives programming, including contract drafting, booking accommodations, and maintaining long-term relationships. Handle on-site artist coordination to ensure smooth event execution and foster sustainable partnerships.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration:Work closely with departments across the Museum, including IMC, Advancement, AV, and accounting teams, to ensure cohesive event production and alignment with the Museum's broader initiatives. Promote the importance of SubSpace and Strategic Initiatives programming to the institution and community.
  • Community Partnerships & Outreach:Assist in building and maintaining relationships with 30-40 community partners, fostering collaborations that expand the Museum's reach. Support the outreach and production of 1-3 touring SubSpace programs annually to enhance the Museum's impact across regional and national platforms.
  • Audience Engagement & Experience:Deliver outstanding customer service by supporting front-of-house operations, accessibility offerings, and audience engagement strategies to ensure a positive experience for all attendees.

What We're Looking For (competencies)



  • Program Innovation & Event Production:Experience in supporting production and coordination of a wide variety of public events, including hybrid, digital, and in-person programming. Skilled in managing all aspects of event production, from planning to execution.
  • Partnership & Relationship Building:Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with artists, community partners, and cross-functional departments. Skilled at artist liaison and fostering long-term collaborations with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project & Operations Management:Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously. Experience in overseeing logistics, scheduling, and ensuring successful and timely execution.
  • Creative Strategy & Collaboration:Ability to work across teams to develop and implement creative strategies that align with the Museum's mission. Capable of maintaining high-quality event delivery while supporting the strategic goals of the Museum and its programming.

Salary Range

$48,000—$60,000 USD
