Why We Need You:
The Museum of Science is looking for an experienced Beverage Director to set strategy and execution around our internal and external beverage delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and curate beverage menus, including cocktails, wine, beer options aligning with the brand vision and guest preferences.
- Oversee beverage purchasing, inventory management, and cost control to maximize profitability.
- Negotiate contracts and build relationships with beverage suppliers, distributors, and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal liquor laws and health regulations.
- Train and mentor Account Sales Manager(s)
- Monitor market trends and emerging beverage innovations to keep the program competitive and fresh.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
- Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for beverage service and quality assurance.
- Analyze sales data and customer feedback to adjust strategies for improved performance and guest satisfaction.
- Manage and oversee beverage program budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Demonstrates an understanding of safety, environmental and sustainability policies, procedures and standards; proactively integrates these principles into work practices and decision-making processes.
- In-depth knowledge of beverage trends, mixology, wine pairings, and industry best practices.
- Develop and manage budget within approved guidelines, external requirements and regulations; adapted financial plans to meet changing priorities
- Possesses a strong willingness to work hard and sometimes long hours to get the job done. Has a track record of working hard.
- Job-related technical skills needed to complete the work at a high level of quality.
