DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tour Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of volunteer docents, guiding them to deliver personalized and engaging tours that reflect the Museum's mission and core messages.
- Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and mentorship to docents, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge to engage a diverse audience and communicate complex biblical concepts effectively.
- Research & Program Development: Assist with the research and creation of new, seasonal, and innovative tour experiences aligned with the Museum's themes and guest interests.
- Volunteer Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead efforts to recruit, onboard, and retain volunteers for the Docent Program, ensuring alignment with the Museum's vision and standards.
- Event Planning: Plan and coordinate docent-related events such as training sessions, appreciation events, and recognition gatherings to foster a positive and collaborative environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the guided tours team to ensure consistent delivery of tours and contribute to new initiatives that enhance the guest experience.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as required to support the Museum’s overall mission and vision.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience:
Education & Experience:
- A relevant educational background related to museum education or a similar field is required.
- Multiple years of experience in a museum or educational institution, specifically leading tours or delivering presentations, are essential.
- Deep familiarity with the Bible and experience in communicating its history, stories, and impact to diverse audiences is required.
- Proven experience in volunteer management and team leadership.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the ability to quickly learn additional software such as Better Impact, Tessitura, and other tools essential for Museum operations.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Self-motivated, responsible, and capable of working independently and taking initiative.
- Collaborative team player with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Passion for interactive education and the ability to engage with a wide variety of people.
- High energy and the ability to maintain engagement and enthusiasm for multi-hour tour sessions.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Flexibility in leading tours at different hours is expected.
