Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students of various ages and skill levels to explore and develop their musical talents while fostering a love for music. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, teaching music theory and performance, and adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational requirements. This job is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive private lesson music curriculum that aligns with educational standards.
- Teach various music genres and techniques, including but not limited to vocal training, instrument instruction for violin/piano, and music theory.
- Teach in-person, or online lessons to various ages and proficiency levels, from a Private Studio within our Music Store setting.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
- Manage students of varying ages effectively, ensuring a respectful and productive atmosphere.
- Provide individualized support to students, including those who may have special learning needs.
- Organize for performances and recitals to showcase student progress and achievements, in accordance with our recital schedule (Winter).
- Cooperate with other educators to maintain a clean and tidy studio environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices in music education.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting; familiarity with preschool or special education is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, performance techniques, and curriculum development.
- Ability to manage student behavior effectively while promoting a fun learning environment.
- Experience in tutoring or providing individualized instruction.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage students of varying ages and backgrounds.
- A passion for teaching music and a commitment to fostering student growth through creative expression.
