What are the responsibilities and job description for the Voice Instructor position at Music Lab Folsom?
Music Lab is a network of schools in Sacramento, Davis, Los Angeles, and Nashville. Music Lab Folsom is looking for an amazing, talented, experienced and reliable voice instructor to join our team!
We are looking specifically for someone to take over for one of our amazing instructors who is leaving us after 2 years. She mainly teaches girls ages 5 - 17. Candidates should be personable with a warm, outgoing and fun personality and be able to relate well to these students.
Important: This is a year-round job, so we need someone who is staying in the area and can work from Summer into Fall and beyond.
We have 200 students and 16 instructors and are continuing to grow! This is a super fun and rewarding place to work. Our students and parents are amazing! We have showcases 3 times per year and have more than a dozen fun-filled summer camps.
Responsibilities:
- Teach structured music lessons to students of various ages and skill levels
- Create and implement lesson plans, assign homework
- Provide instruction in a variety of musical instruments and genres
- Foster a positive and engaging learning environment
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians
Requirements:
- At least 1 year experience instructing students in a music education setting -OR- extensive singing experience and very familiar with voice training techniques.
- Strong knowledge of vocal theory and technique
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching music and working with mostly young students (mostly ages 7-16)
- Fun, cheerful, outgoing personality, people-person preferred
Please note that this position is in person at our Folsom location. Our instructors do not work remotely.
