What are the responsibilities and job description for the Worship Musician Pianist Organist position at Music Ministry International?
The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following :
- Description of Work : Contractor shall provide musical accompaniment to the Sunday Worship Services at the St. Cloud VA Health Care System (VA HCS) Chapel 4801Veterans Drive St. Cloud MN 56303. Service shall include one Catholic Mass and one Protestant Service may include other occasions in support of the music ministry of the Chapel.

- Deliverable Schedule : Pianist / organist provide music accompaniment for Sunday Worships Services and other occasions as needed for Veterans and families.
- Times for Sunday Worship Services are 9 : 15 am for Protestant Services and 10 : 15 am for Catholic Mass.
- Times for support in other occasions will be determined as needed.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in at least one accompanying instrument i.e. piano or organ.
- Knowledge of keyboard technique service playing requirements.
- Must be able to play an array of religious music for Catholic Mass and Protestant Services.
- Must be flexible and adapt to various Chaplains of different denominations along with their expectations and take directions when playing.
- Understanding of acoustics especially to the space in which the parish worships.
- Basic knowledge of harmony.
- Proficiency to sight read music and sings a variety of arrangements and improvises as needed.
- Practice and remain proficient in musical skills.
- Chaplains Chaplain Residents and Summer Interns to provide hymns for Protestant Services one week prior to Sunday Worship through the use of email.
- Chaplain Catholic Priest will work in conjunction with the Chapel Program Support Clerk to provide Catholic Music in advance for Catholic Mass through the use of email.
