MusicBreeds for Autistic Leaners, a division of MusicBreeds, Inc., is dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students of all abilities. We are seeking a passionate and certified Music Instructor who has experience working with special needs or autistic students and is enthusiastic about integrating modern music concepts, production skills, and traditional music into their teaching practice.
Position Overview
We are looking for a dynamic Music Instructor certified by the New York State Department of Education (NYS DOE) with expertise in traditional music education, modern music concepts, and production techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to inclusive education and a proven ability to adapt music instruction to meet the diverse needs of special needs and autistic students.
Requirements : Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging music lessons that incorporate traditional music theory, history, and performance techniques.
- Integrate modern music concepts such as digital music production, beat-making, and electronic music composition into the curriculum.
- Use adaptive technologies, software, and instruments to facilitate learning and participation in music activities for students with diverse learning needs.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity, self-expression, and musical exploration among students.
- Collaborate with special education teachers, therapists, and parents / guardians to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support plans that incorporate music therapy and educational goals.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies to ensure each student achieves their learning objectives.
- Organize and lead extracurricular activities, performances, and events that showcase students' musical talents and achievements. - Assess and evaluate student progression through direct and indirect tools
