What are the responsibilities and job description for the HOUSING SPECIALIST/MI position at Muskegon County, MI?
A Housing Specialist/MI, with detailed instruction, completes applications and assessments of eligibility for housing programs; completes SOAR applications and conducts outreach, linking and coordinating services with homeless individuals. An employee in this class documents in the HMIS system and tracking system for housing programs and locates, places and follows-up with consumers in housing programs and perform related duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Entrance Qualifications
1. Must be a high school graduate or have passed the General Educational Development Examination (GED); AND
Have a minimum of one (1) year of paid, volunteer or internship experience working with those with mental illness.
2. Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
3. Possess a valid Michigan driver's license.
4. Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.

An employee in this class generally works in the HealthWest Administrative offices although travel to locations within the County may be required.
