Muskegon Family Care is looking for a FULL TIME Pharmacy Technician In-training to join our Team. Muskegon Family Care offers a competitive benefit package including Tuition Reimbursement up to $1,500 annually, 401K with a 3% employer contribution, and Holidays off paid and no work on Sunday.
Student Loan Forgiveness: Working for Muskegon Family Care may allow you to participate in programs that forgive the balance of qualifying student loans. Information/eligibility is available from the U.S. Department of Education.
SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Pharmacy Business Manager and under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director, the Pharmacy Technician In-training will perform the functions of a Pharmacy Technician in training by assisting Pharmacist in filling and labeling patients prescriptions, updating patient personal and insurance information and ensuring accuracy in the prescription filling process.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: including the following.
Enters prescription orders into QS1 accurately and efficiently.
Creates and updates patient’s personal profile in EHR including: patient demographics, allergy information, and insurance information.
Counts 25 prescriptions per hour accurately and efficiently.
Ensures that patient receives correct prescriptions.
Answer phone in timely manner.
Assists Pharmacist with filling and labeling prescriptions.
Communicates with providers and their staff to obtain refill authorization.
Knowledge of common medication brands and generic names, doses, and indication to patients and staff.
Collect cash and/ or credit for payment of prescriptions
Understanding of medical terminology
Ability to respect confidentiality and patient data
Maintains a courteous, helpful and conscientious attitude in dealing with co-workers and patients and their families ensuring professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
Keeps work area neat and clean.
Regular and prompt attendance at work.
All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Enrollment in PSI's Pharmacy Tech Prep Online Employer-based Training Program. Computer and Medical Terminology experience preferred.
