Duties:
- Develop and implement engaging and relevant lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Provide high-quality instruction in literacy education, using a range of teaching strategies and resources.
- Conduct standardized testing and assessments to track student progress and inform instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues in special education and early intervention to support students with special needs.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- Provide individualized support to students who require extra help and work closely with parents to promote student success.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in childhood development and literacy education.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school events to contribute to the growth and success of our school community.
Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Proven experience in curriculum development and implementation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with standardized testing and assessment tools.
- Experience working with students who require special education or early intervention.
- Knowledge of childhood development and literacy education best practices.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Must possess an Associate or Bachelor’s degree and possess a current and valid Michigan Teaching Certificate required by the Michigan Department of Education highly preferred.
Alternative Route to Education Program highly preferred
