BASIC FUNCTION: Direct the daily education program and the implementation of the Head Start goals to the fullest extent possible for each child in conjunction with the teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. CDA in Early Childhood Education / Associates degree or BA, BS in related field, plus one year teaching experience preferred.
2. Demonstrate an aptitude for accurate record keeping, reporting and writing.
3. Maintain flexibility in meeting job responsibilities.
4. Demonstrate competency to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions, plan and implement learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment and promote children’s progress across the standards described in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five and applicable state early learning and development standards, including for children with disabilities and dual language learners, as appropriate.
5. Show the ability to function effectively and appropriately with various community agencies, programs and professionals. Maintain a professional image while representing Head Start.
6. Demonstrate flexibility, willingness and commitment to attend professional meetings and training.
7. Exhibit the ability to communicate and remain courteous and professional with children, parents and staff.
8. Demonstrate a sincere commitment to the philosophy of Head Start and to the objectives of an early childhood intervention program.
9. Must have a valid Drivers license and reliable transportation

SUPERVISOR: Teacher
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS: INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING, OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.
1. Support teacher responsibilities in classroom, so teacher can implement IEPs/CSPs, Pre-Brigances, intervention plans, and other Special Services procedures.
2. Participate in the site routine cleaning and preparation.
3. Assist in developing and implementing lesson plans. Help plan activities incorporated on the IEP and Individual Child Plan.
4. Assist in completing monthly reports timely and accurately, as needed by teacher and/or Site Manager (i.e. attendance, meal count, etc.)
5. Prepare room for daily activities.
6. Encourage, stimulate and assist in the development of parent involvement at the site.
7. Work cooperatively with all site staff at assigned sites.
8. Follow and enforce all safety regulations.
9. Participate in the maintenance of center equipment as requested including inventory, proper use, cleaning, and storage. Complete routine cleaning to ensure a safe, healthy environment, including but not limited to: disinfecting tables before and after meals and sweeping floors before and after meals.
10. Act as teacher in her/his absence and assume that position’s responsibilities.
11. Act as class/bus aide in her/his absence and assume that position’s responsibilities.
12. Assist in gathering information, observing children, tracking children’s development and data input of the TS Gold assessment.
13. Complete, track and submit in-kind documentation.
14. Abide by and assure USDA guidelines and polices are observed.
15. Maintain eighty-five (85%) percent average daily attendance for children, maintain attendance records and follow up on un-notified absences (per policy).
16. Dress appropriately for the job at all times. Avoid provocative clothing such as hats or shirts with sexual slogans, curse words, etc. Avoid loose or dangling jewelry that children could grab or become caught in equipment, or sharp objects or pins that could injure children. Wear footwear that minimizes the possibility of slips and falls. Wear clean clothes and practice good hygiene.
17. Respect the confidentiality of children, families and staff.
18. Attend and participate in site staff and full staff meetings, orientation training, staff development and program planning.
20. Perform other duties as assigned by the Teacher, Supervisor, Education Manager, Program Area Managers, and Executive Director.
21. Read and adhere to all policies and procedures set forth in the Child Care Resources, Inc. Policies and Procedures Manual
Basic Job Responsibilities and Employee Standards

11. Participate in any or all efforts to support parent involvement as appropriate to position.
12. Maintain training in bloodborne pathogens, communicable diseases, child abuse, child CPR and first aid, which is a collateral duty and to keep all training up to date.
