POSITION TITLE: Electrical Safety Inspector (ESI) / Building Inspector
STATUS: Full Time (40 hours/week)
SALARY RANGE: Starting at $35.00 per hour (Commensurate with Experience)
DEADLINE: Open Until Position Is Filled
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Journeyman Electrician with a minimum of 6 years’ experience OR Electrical Engineer licensed in Ohio OR Current ESI certification with Ohio Board of Building Standards
*Must be able to perform inspections on Construction sites
*Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license
*Pass all pre-employment screening.
Electrical Safety Inspector (ESI) / Building Inspector shall perform inspections on electrical and building components to verify compliance with approved construction documents. Inspections will cover electrical work, grounding, service entrances, and witness of fire alarm tests, framing and mechanical work. Individual will use County vehicle to inspect a six county jurisdiction and have the ability to navigate successfully in rural and urban settings. Must be able to communicate effectively with Contractors, Project Managers, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Building Officials. Ability to operate tablet, laptop, digital camera, general office equipment and read construction blueprints effectively. Responsible to complete reports on all inspections in a timely manner.
