About the company
Since 1929 Muskingum Iron & Metal Co has specialized in the processing of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal. We purchase scrap from the general public, commercial accounts, and industrial customers across the region. After segregating material by grade, we package it to meet mill furnace specifications so the material can be melted down to begin its new lifecycle. We currently operate five locations across Southeastern and Central Ohio. Muskingum Iron & Metal Co. is an equal opportunity employer.
Role
- Weigh and grade inbound and outbound metal materials
- Operate and manage the truck scale and its software systems
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions and weights
- Cash handling, ensuring accuracy when paying customers
- Prepare bills of lading and or scale tickets
- Maintain clean work environment
- Coordinate deliveries with dispatch
- Answer all incoming calls and are directed to the scale phone

Qualifications
· Flexibility to take on additional job duties as needed
· Must be able to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to work on your feet for at least 8 hours, daily
· Maintain a regular, dependable attendance
