Maintenance Engineer

$2,000.00 Bonus  = $1,000 after 90 days and $1,000 after 1 year

Position Overview

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of equipment, machinery, and facilities within an organization. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency. The Maintenance Engineer works closely with other engineering and operational teams to maintain a safe and productive work environment. Lead according to Mustad values.

Essential Job Functions

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before they lead to equipment failure.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and parts replacement.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies to minimize downtime.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Recommend and implement modifications to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and install new equipment.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and replacements.
• Prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and downtime.
• Ensure compliance with maintenance protocols and safety standards.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to prevent accidents.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Performs or assists with other duties as requested or assigned.
  

Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering (i.e., Mechanical, Robotics, Electrical) or related field
  Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance engineering or a similar role.
  Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, reading technical drawings, and understanding mechanical and electrical systems.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues. Problem-solving skills, advanced technical skills, analytical thinker
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar are a plus.
• Able to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision
• Proficiency with MS Office, well organized, and with a strong aptitude for details
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Desirable Skills/Attributes (preferred but not required)

• Experience working in maintenance areas.
• PowerBi experience
• Certified Black belt
• Experience working with operational excellence processes implemented (Lean, TPM, SixSigma)

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Periods of standing, walking, reaching above shoulders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and working with tools
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must hold a valid passport with the ability to travel internationally 10%

Work Environment

The employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals.  Individuals are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and are working with near-moving mechanical parts with the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud.  Personal protective equipment will be provided.
