Technical Communicator Responsibilities include:
Consulting with all stores to ensure resolution of critical technical problems while enhancing technical competencies of dealer Technicians
Providing technical support for Mustang Power Systems shop and field service departments to include large bore 290, field service, marine, EPG, Tomball, and Waller (rebuild and machining).
Communicating with CAT engineers via the DSN to quickly resolve all technical issues
Performing other duties such as applied failure analysis, completing goodwill requests, and working with our district CAT Representative to help resolve technical issues
Work with Technical Services team and service technicians to provide solutions to trouble-shooting needs
This person must be able to take on additional work in the absence of other Technical Communicators and possess strong written and verbal skills.
Assisting with the definition and solution of technical problems
Assist sales and parts departments with technical matters
Develop and maintain a cohesive team effort between all departments
Work closely with Caterpillar to develop economical solutions to issues and product problems
Technical Communicator Requirements:
College degree in Diesel Technology or Ag Mechanization or other industry-related field
Will consider equivalent work experience in lieu of educational requirements
In-depth knowledge of internal combustion engines and the fundamental differences between spark vs compression ignition engines.
Technical background with the ability to read schematics, engineering drawings, and machining specifications
Working knowledge of precision measuring equipment to include dial bore gauges, calipers, O.D. micrometers, depth micrometers, profilometers, T-gauges, gauge blocks, etc.
Working knowledge of water brake and inertial dyno testing procedures, nomenclature, and performance troubleshooting
Knowledge of CAT and Mustang data/service systems and applications
Soft skills as required for a technical professional whose insight and recommendations may directly influence service revenue and sales growth in a competitive environment.
Salary : $72,000 - $90,000
