PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at designated times unless appropriate administrator/supervisor has been notified.
  2. Prepares for assigned classes and provides written evidence of preparation that reflects objectives to be achieved.
  3. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of District and State curriculum.
  4. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided, materials available and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  5. Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  6. Discerns students' needs and refers, when appropriate, to school personnel who can best provide assistance.
  7. Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
  8. Participates in professional development. New instructors shall participate in pre-service professional development activities as required by the appropriate divisions. All secondary instructors shall participate in professional in-service as required by the appropriate divisions, including summer conference and mid-year activations.
  9. Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives and methods.
  10. Assists in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials. Each program shall use instructional materials developed by the Department of Career Tech or materials approved by the appropriate program administrator.
  11. Submits student accounting and completes other required reports on the specified due date(s).
  12. Accepts responsibility and arrives punctually for activities and duties as assigned.
  13. Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and parents concerning both the academic and behavioral progress.
  14. Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with co-workers.
  15. Is actively involved in professional growth activities.
  16. Plans a program of study in cooperation with the administration that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
  17. Creates an effective classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students within the limits of the resources of the district.
  18. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required through report cards and parent-teacher conferences.
  19. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct; and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure; and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
  20. Maintains appropriate emotional stability, physical health, personal appearance and personality.
  21. Maintains confidentiality.
  22. Maintains good relations with the businesses in the community.
  23. Sponsors an active and appropriate career and technology student organization as an integral part of the program.
  24. Adheres to the policies set forth by the Board of Education.
  25. Each full-time program has an occupational advisory committee that is formally organized and meets at least once annually.
  26. Keeps an updated inventory on State and District owned equipment and supplies.
  27. Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, District policy and administrative regulations.
  28. Follows guidelines set by the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education, Careertech Rules for Career and Technology Education, Title 780 Oklahoma Administrative Code.
  29. Abides by all district, federal and state laws, policies and procedures.
  30. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Ability to stand, walk, squat frequently.

Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently.

Ability to do outside duties in inclement weather.

Ability to walk or move long distances from location to location around the building multiple times each day.
