Job Summary

The intern will be involved with the day-to-day responsibilities of a sales team member and will be part of the sales team which will include District Sales Managers and Sales Managers.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Support Sales Managers and District Sales Managers (DSMs) with needed seed deliveries.
• Assist customers in planting plots (i.e., strip trials and cover crops).
• Responsible for plot maintenance and appearance which will include plot signage.
• Learn how to operate the on-demand seed treatment equipment under the guidance of the Location Manager/DSM.
• Learn selling techniques and the importance of customer relationships with one-on-one experience.
• Attend company events such as plot tours, farm shows, and training.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to collect and summarize statistical data with skill in use of an iPad and computer.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Organizational skills with attention to detail required.
• Capable of working independently while being a valuable team member. Be a self-starter and problem solver.
• CDL REQUIRED (prior to your internship) along with an excellent driving record.
• Ability to run equipment preferred, but not required.
  
  

Education And Experience

• Major in Agriculture Business, Agronomy, Agriculture Education or an Agriculture related field of study.
• Must be a student in good standing in an accredited agriculture program.
• No experience is required; however, farming operations or row crop knowledge is beneficial.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Daily travel: company vehicle provided at the Mustang location.
• Required to lift 50-70 pounds.
• Required to work outside.
• Overtime hours will be expected and paid at time and a half.
  
  

Additional Information

• For Summer internship:
• The program extends for 10-12 consecutive weeks, May - August (flexible start and end dates)
• 40 hours per week with the possibility of overtime and extended hours
• Continuation into Fall Internship may be possible.
• For Fall internship
• The program extends for 10-12 consecutive weeks (August - November)
• It may be part-time to fit the intern's school schedule, or full-time if the intern is taking a semester off to gain experience as an intern
