Position Summary:
Work involves generating business by working with customers and building relationships with them by estimating costs and coordinating the work in a timely manner. Must be familiar with the business activities and growth in the surrounding area and know which businesses should be contacted about potential work. Must represent Muth Electric in a positive manner in the community at all times. Is responsible to ensure that work is completed in a safe and efficient manner and that the entire service department follows all Standard Procedures and Lean processes that are developed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate safe work habits, comply with company safety requirements
- Meets with customers, immediately upon their request, to establish scope of work and an estimate.
- Assists the Division Manager in analyzing the manpower requirements of the Service Department.
- Communicate clearly with service electrician(s) the customer expectations, scope of work and potential issues.
- Checks constantly to ensure that the workmanship meets the required specifications and is of quality that Muth Electric customers have come to expect.
- Reviews, resolves and anticipates materials, product, tool, and equipment problems.
- Test malfunctioning equipment and repair or replace faulty wires, cables, or electronic components
- Working knowledge of motor controls
- Install and maintain distribution boxes, switching gear, power and control circuits, etc.
- Install and maintain telephone equipment
- Must be able to perform the duties of a journeyworker electrician as identified in the journeyworker job description.
- Requires knowledge of process, procedures, and methods
- Requires the use of common courtesy in everyday contacts with employees, clients, and the general public
- Assists in the implementation of any established cross-training programs to upgrade and provide a more flexible work force.
- Exhibit excellent organizational, people and communication skills
- Required to carry a pager or cell phone and be on-call when necessary
- Night/weekend work as required
- Work as required in varying weather climates
- Assists in training, motivating, evaluating and disciplining journeyworker and apprentice electricians.
