Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Equipment Rental Operations Specialist to handle dispatching, scheduling, sales, customer service, and basic equipment handling. This role is key to our operations and requires strong organizational skills, multitasking, and a customer-focused mindset. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable with hands-on tasks, including lifting equipment and educating customers on safe equipment operation.
Key Responsibilities Dispatching & Scheduling:
- Coordinate delivery and pickup schedules for rental equipment.
- Dispatch drivers, communicate delivery details, and track equipment movement.
- Monitor equipment availability, resolve scheduling conflicts, and optimize logistics.
Sales & Customer Service:
- Handle customer calls, recommend equipment, and process rentals.
- Assist customers in selecting the right equipment and explain features, functions, and safety procedures.
- Teach customers how to safely operate construction equipment, including boom lifts, skid steers, and more.
- Resolve customer issues and provide exceptional service.
Equipment Handling & Operations Support:
- Lift and load equipment into customers' vehicles as needed.
- Inspect and process returned equipment for damage or maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate inventory, scheduling, and dispatch records.
- Support billing, invoicing, and online inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment safely.
- Customer-focused attitude; experience in dispatching, sales, or construction equipment is a plus.
- Basic computer skills; training on equipment operation and safety provided.
- Construction equipment background is needed
What you will need to succeed:
- Ability to lift/move approximately 50-70 lbs.
- Experience with gardening equipment
- A customer service mindset
- Ability to work weekends and work outdoors as needed all year round
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
- Equipment rental industry experience preferred but not required.
Typical Shift is 7a-4p or 8a-5p
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
