PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Executive-level experience in human resources management practices including employee relations, training and development, investigation, policy development, benefits, classification/compensation, and legal/risk management.
- Solid organizational development techniques, including recruitment, retention, performance evaluation, and setting key expectations for employees.
- Manage Talent Acquisition and Onboarding by leading the recruitment and hiring process, attracting top talent who share our commitment to our mission. Develop comprehensive onboarding programs to help new employees integrate seamlessly into the organization.
- Oversight of all employee relations matters including discipline procedures, complaints, and employee investigation.
- Strong understanding of laws and regulations including FMLA/CFRA, ADA, FLSA, disability, and related State and Federal laws.
- Coordinate HR-related training and development programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our staff and management team.
- Manage benefits administration including trends in the provision of health, dental, workers’ compensation and disability benefits.
- Oversee implementation and management of HR technology systems; develop KPI reporting mechanisms to demonstrate HR and Recruiting trends to senior leadership
- Work with outside legal counsel and other experts relating to compliance and other aspects of the business.
- Coach, mentor and build rapport with employees and leaders to be seen as a trusted advisor.
- Stay current with the latest industry trends, best practices and share insights.
Requirements
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS/BA required in Business, HR, or other similar.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience leading a team of HR professionals.
- Building industry experience is a plus.
- Experience developing and augmenting policies and procedures for both hourly workers as well as professionals.
- Demonstrable experience managing the functions of recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, leaves, employee relations, labor law compliance, employee engagement, disciplinary actions, investigations, people systems and other functions with the ability to handle complex and often sensitive manners
- Excellent leadership skills, a proficiency for identifying/developing talent, and the ability to understand the organizational effect of human resources practices.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, develop, and support staff.
- Understanding of HRIS systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team building and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing others and leading initiatives.
- Proven knowledge of standard business practices and procedures, including advanced HR practices.
- In-depth knowledge of State and Federal employment laws.
- HR Professional Certification preferred.
