Business Development Manager
As a Business Development Manager, you act as a Brand Ambassador for Muuto, dedicated to promoting the Muuto brand across all channels, including Contract, Wholesale, & Retail for our Americas region. This role is a crucial part of our reach in the market and focused on sales growth, thus collaborates closely with a diverse set of stakeholders and departments, esp. Sales, Sales Operations, and Marketing across Muuto and MillerKnoll. The role reports into Muuto leadership, with a dotted line to the MillerKnoll US Sales org.
Your responsibilities
- Place and represent Muuto in the North America market by closely collaborating with the ancillary selling teams, including sales colleagues and dealers, presence at events, etc.
- Actively find and generate new business, continuously promoting growth opportunities, in order to meet/exceed annual Muuto sales targets for assigned territory.
- Build and develop relationships with Dealer Partners to grow and support project orders.
- Promote the North America campaign strategies for Muuto to elevate brand awareness and incentivize selling within the sales team & dealer network.
- Identify markets and verticals for sales growth, recognize opportunities and follow-up to reach set targets.
- Work in close partnership with the HQ teams, e.g. Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, to be aligned with brand strategy, placement and go-to-market activities.
- Liaise with stakeholders across various parts of the business and all levels of the organization to reach the set targets.
- Function as a Brand Ambassador on the ground in the Showroom (Chicago or NYC), at events, fairs and similar (some travel might be required).
Education/Experience
- Degree in Business, Economics or other relevant / adjacent discipline
- 3-5 years of experience in Sales and / or Sales-Operations with a strong focus on brand representation, with a proven track record of working to targets
- Deep knowledge of and experience in the furniture industry and a solid understanding of the different customers
- Demonstrated ability and ease in interacting and building new relationships with a variety of business stakeholders, internally and externally
- Customer and target-focused mindset, paired with a structured work style
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and comfortable in training internal and external stakeholders
