Basic Function:
Responsible for conducting mechanical tests, troubleshooting, and ensuring the performance and quality of components, products, or systems for validation against failure modes of concern reported in the FMEA or related documents. Setting up and maintaining mechanical testing equipment, data collection, and analysis to support product development and manufacturing as directed by Test Engineers.
Principal Duties
1. Perform mechanical testing on components and products according to test protocols and industry standards under the guidance of the Test Engineer.
2. Set up, calibrate, and operate test equipment.
3. Maintain and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the equipment used for testing.
4. Data acquisition, monitoring, ensuring the integrity of data, identifying any deviations or failures.
5. Evaluate failed components from tests as well as field return parts.
6. Fabricates and/or machine minor brackets or fixtures as needed to support testing.
7. Follow safety procedures and industry regulations during testing operations.
8. Travels to customers to set up and/or perform tests when required.
9. General building support to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience:
- High School Diploma (Technical Institute / Associate Degree in Engineering Technology a plus
- 3 Years experience as an Engineering Test Technician
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude
- Component Testing
- Basic Wiring Skills
- Basic Fabrication and Machining
