Full-Time, Regular, Non-exempt, $55,000 - $65,000

SUMMARY:

MV Ventures is seeking a highly organized and experienced accounting professional to support the MV Ventures finance team in a highly dynamic environment.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Transactional Accuracy – 65%
    • Complete assigned journal entries and account reconciliations accurately and timely; including obtaining adequate supporting documentation and understanding of account drivers and variances to budget and prior years
    • Assist the revenue accountant in processing A/P and A/R through the Yardi software as needed
    • Accurately and timely process Pay Applications for real estate projects
    • Manage accounting for all expenses including required prepaids/accruals for the various real estate entities
    • Responsible for all cash/bank reconciliations
    • Work with event accounting on the revenue and expense side
    • Ensure compliance with sales and use tax requirements
    • Assist with Form 1099 issuance at year end
    • Develop data validation tools to drive accuracy
    • Ensure CAM revenue and expenses are being accurately tracked

  • Consistent and Reliable Business Partner – 15%
    • Promptly handle vendor correspondence as requested, research and resolve account issues and billing inconsistencies, as well as serve as liaison with departments on internal inquiries
    • Perform various other duties on behalf of the organization
    • Participate in annual professional development
    • Potential growth into a more expanded accounting role

  • Compliance and Reporting – 10%
    • Post ledger and general journal entries and assist with ledger reconciliations
    • Assist with tax requests as needed
    • Maintain and keep updated policies and procedures

  • Financial Analysis – 10%
    • Collaborate with and provide supporting data and decision support for all business projects
    • Understand budget components and utilize detail to provide reasonableness checks
    • Support budget and forecasting activities by identifying trends or other items that could increase budget and forecast accuracy

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial documents and identify issues.
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in document generation and proofreading.
  • Adept in management of multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities.
  • Advanced proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for document generation.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with appropriate sensitivity and discretion.
  • Ability to perform project management and organizational tasks.
  • Ability to work timely and effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with ability to exercise good judgment and interact professionally with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Experience: 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred
  • Degree/accreditations: Bachelor’s degree in accounting required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 20 lbs. Will be seated during majority of workday, though will be on your feet and mobile for extended periods depending on job duty.
  • Regularly performs computer work and operates office equipment.
