At Orbit Advanced Technologies, Inc., a division of MVG, we strive to deliver the most advanced antenna and RCS measurement facilities to the U.S. aerospace and defense industry. As a Field Service Engineer (RF), you will ensure that products perform to stated product specifications and meet customer expectations for their application needs and performance. You will develop long-term customer relationships by providing exemplary service and support to assure service contract renewals.
Key Responsibilities:
Work within a multi-discipline engineering environment to service, troubleshoot, repair, and install MVG systems.
Collaborate with our global system & product engineering teams at the subsystem and system level to service and repair existing systems.
Lead and take ownership of system maintenance and installation or RF and mechanical subsystems.
Responsible for independently operating MVG system(s) to demonstrate functionality and report malfunctions.
Timely preparation and presentation of technical summaries for reporting upon completed work.
Responsible for troubleshooting over the phone or at customer site, documenting the customer contact, and working to finalize the repair plans as required.
Contribute to system installations, tests, data processing, and analysis.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A self-motivated and accountable individual with the will to take ownership of execution of challenging/cutting-edge needs.
- The ability to review schematics, blueprints, manuals, and other specifications to determine procedures and scope of work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (proficient with Microsoft products).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems.
- 3 years of desired experience in low-voltage, heavy-duty electrical equipment.
- PREFERRED: Degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- The ability to interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment to handle certain activities during an onsite visit.
- Experience using calibrated mechanical or electrical measurement devices like Digital Multimeter, Torque Wrenches, ESD Protection, Oscilloscope, etc.
- Experience using Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Power Meters, Signal sources with a general understanding of System Block Diagrams and signal flow.
- The ability to work in physically demanding environments and use construction equipment.
- Experience with metrology equipment such as a theodolite or laser trackers is plus.
- General Troubleshoot/Evaluation/Repair/Servicing of dynamic mechanical components.
- Electronic Troubleshooting – AC/DC; low voltage and high voltage.
- Detailed at gathering data and information while reporting on activities from the job site and in-house efforts.
- US Citizen and have a valid driver's license.
