What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Lead position at MVG | Microwave Vision Group?
Orbit Advanced Technologies, Inc., (OATI), a division of MVG, https://www.mvg-world.com/en is growing and looking for a Logistics Lead who will report to the Production Manager. This role is a key contributor to the organization covering aspects on planning & tracking product releases within the production department. The coordination and scheduling of packaged goods will be handled by this role which will provide key support during on-site installation efforts. This role will also work directly with the engineering team to receive any drawing packages that require incoming inspections on fabrications and assemblies from our vendors. This position will help program management in all the necessary logistics that need to occur during their project life cycles as well as negotiating prices for shipping products out to our customer sites. It is pivotal that this role works directly with PMO, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Production Depts to effectively communicate all requirements for establishing quality control & coordination when a product needs to be released to customer sites.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Responsible for all logistics coordination to support Program Management on delivering product(s) to our clients.
- Responsible for negotiating prices for shipping products out whether by sea, air freight, & ground transportation.
- Ability to review & inspect incoming assemblies to ensure its in accordance with approved design documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other departments to ensure planning and coordination is done proactively to ensure delivery to our customer’s due date.
- Self-motivated and especially follows through on complying with our ISO procedures.
- Can communicate technically with Suppliers if the product(s) received are not per Engineering approved drawings.
- Competent with reading AutoCAD drawings or other software applications to inspect received product(s) from Suppliers.
- Responsible for quality checks on all related documentation.
- Ability to demonstrate organizational & communication skills to effectively plan out logistics requirements for large complex systems.
- Ability to retrieve quotations from packing vendors and able to purchase within our ERP system.
- Ability to support inventory count annually to minimize downtime in production schedules.
- Ability to order components for assembly, as required
- Ability to work with our international divisions ensuring import/export compliance.
