Border Tire is hiring a Retread Associate in Corona, CA! / strong / ppThestrongRetread Associate / strongwill be responsible for manufacturing tires through our assembly line and producing a finished product that meets all company expectations, guidelines, and ensure customer satisfaction. The position functions in a manufacturing environment retread facility where commercial truck tires are retreaded through a series of manual and automated processes. / ppstrongResponsibilities : / strong / pulliTrain for all aspects of retread tire manufacturing including inspecting and buffing tire carcasses, applying rubber compounds, curing, and quality control. / liliInspects tires to be retreaded or repaired to determine condition, repairs needed, etc. / liliOperates a buffing machine to remove treads from tires to be retreaded, following specifications for depth and width of removal. / liliMeasures diameter and cross-section to determine correct tread width. / liliApplies rubber cement to tire casing and hangs up to dry. / liliSelects the proper size tread rubber and apply it to the tire. / liliPlaces proper curing tube in the tire and inserts proper rim for curing. / liliPlaces tire in chamber and programs correct curing temperature according to specification. / liliSets timer for curing time according to chart, and makes a record of each tire, showing the size and curing time. / liliRemoves finished retread from the curing chamber. Also removes the rim and curing bag from a finished retread. / liliInspects tires to determine defects in curing, i.e. soft cures, ply separation, repairs missed, etc. / liliTrims and paints finished retread. / liliChecks finished tire with a work order for proper identification and completion of work required. / liliOperate independently and as a team member. / liliInspects and tests tires to ensure conformance to standards. / liliVisually inspect tires to be retreaded to determine condition. / liliSkive, buff, and fill any injury in the tire as required. / liliReceive and unload supplies including tread rubber, cushion gum and repair materials, envelopes, curing rim, tire casings, rims, etc. / liliAssists in distribution center activities as assigned. / liliPerform routine inspection and maintenance on plant equipment following managers and manufacturers instructions. / liliFollow processes to ensure retread tire completion. / liliContinues to work on revenue-producing work as needed. / liliFollow all companys filed procedures and protocols. / liliOperates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. / liliReports any safety issues immediately to management. / liliMaintain an organized and safe work area according to the dealership, O.S.H.A., and EPA standards. / li / ulpstrongQualifications : / strong / pulliRequires little or no previous training or experience, but willing to be trained and work. / liliMust be able to work without direct supervision. / liliAbility to learn quickly. / liliMust be detail-oriented to always ensure accuracy and safety. / li / ulpstrongJob Benefits : / strong / pulli401(k) / liliDental Insurance / liliHealth Insurance / liliLife Insurance / liliPaid Time Off / liliTuition Reimbursement / liliVision insurance / li / ulpstrongBenefit Conditions : / strong / pulliOnly full-time employees are eligible. / li / ulpstrongBORDER TIRE / strong / ppstrongYOUR LOCAL TIRE EXPERTS. / strong / ppBorder Tire is all things tire.
