The On Road Repair Service Advisor is responsible for initiating automotive services and repairs by diagnosing performance issues, verifying warranty coverage, providing estimates, and maintaining customer relationships. Success in this role is measured by effective communication with customers, mentoring drivers, supporting cross-team projects, and being recognized as a key team contributor.
Responsibilities:
- Receives incoming calls from drivers requesting emergency and non-emergency assistance.
- Determines which trucks/trailers are most time-sensitive and reacts accordingly.
- Alerts Planners, Dispatchers, and Fleet Supervisors of breakdown or maintenance delay and keeps them informed on the status of the repair.
- Contacts a repairman available in the vicinity of the truck.
- Remains cost conscious; researches the lowest costs and closest repairmen and acts to maintain maximum efficiency.
- Records daily logs of long and short-term repair projects of all trucks and trailers.
- Updates the status of truck/trailer in system.
- Enters invoices into the computer. Administers driver charge backs.
- Posts repair and maintenance amounts in maintenance software.
- Provides invoices to drivers if needed. Files and stores all invoices in maintenance software.
- Issues Comcheck and pays repairmen for services rendered.
- Manages all problems/issues that OTR Coordinators may have concerning job related duties.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
- Three years related experience and/or training in the Transportation Industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of TMT Maintenance Software, AS400, Internet Explorer, Image Power, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and PC Miler.
- Ability to work over 8 hours per day and a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
