Apply your talents to:
- Interpret and execute work orders based on machining instructions, drawings, and specifications
- Load, operate and maintain various CNC machines and other machining equipment (2-axis lathe, 4th axis mill) to produce parts conforming to print requirements
- Make basic and complex program or tooling adjustments to produce conforming parts
- Create custom tooling to include boring bars
- Document program or set up datasheet adjustments to master files for future use
- Achieve precise tolerances (.0005) and surface finishes through quality workmanship
- Measure and inspect machined parts to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Document all work performed on product within the ERP system
- Perform daily routine preventive maintenance and checks on machine(s)
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions and machining issues
- Report/investigate repetitive problems and propose solutions to resolve them
- Mentor and assist colleagues in set ups or program adjustments
- Participate in process improvement and optimization initiatives
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures
- Adhere to established Company procedures and policies, work schedule, attendance standards and safety standards
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED. Recent manufacturing technology/machining program grads welcome!!
- 2-5 years’ experience as a Machinist in any of the following disciplines: ID/OD/Jig/Surface Grinding Hone, CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, Manual Mill, Manual Lathe
- Understanding of CNC programming, G code, M code and machine control
- CAD/CAM, Mastercam, SolidWorks knowledge
- Strong understanding of material properties and machining capabilities of various metals-will be working with all types of alloys-must be knowledgeable working with titanium, Inconel, and other super alloys
- Knowledge of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting techniques
- Knowledge and use of hand tools and general inspection tools
- Must read/write/speak English fluently
- Ability to read and follow work orders, set up data sheets, and measurement instructions
- CMM experience desired
- Computer skills (MS Office) and experience in ERP systems preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to aerospace industry is required
- Working knowledge of manufacturing principals and basic shop math, able to perform standard to metric numerical conversions
- Previous experience in production and quality control methods (ISO9001, AS9100 etc.) preferred
- Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and production systems preferred
- Punctual and reliable attendance
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 40 pounds
