What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector I position at MW Components?
Job Summary:
Inspects in process and finished products for conformance to specifications using fixed or preset measuring instruments. Checks for irregularities and ensures products conform with established tolerance levels for quality and performance. Documents all instances of non-conformance and rejected products in production reports. Prepares required inspection certifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Inspect in process and finished product as required by established procedures.
- Accurately document the results of inspection and testing results.
- Perform careful inspections and enforcements of Quality Standards.
- Maintain all controlled document files of the inspections and testing results.
- Document and report product or service quality levels.
- Collaborate with Quality Team Members to solve problems.
- Maintain records of measuring devices to ensure compliance to standards of QAP, AS9100 and ISO9001.
- Evaluate problems and make recommendations for possible corrective actions.
- Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation.
SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 management systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
- Working knowledge of measurement instruments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow verbal and written communications.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year experience working with quality hand tools, such as calipers, micrometers, gages, etc.
- Ability to lift to 20 pounds.
- Vision and depth perception suitable for use of inspection equipment.
